The Contest is open only to individuals who are legal residents of the 50 United States, District of Columbia, or the provinces and territories of Canada (excluding Quebec) and are at least 13 years old at the time of entry. Directors, officers, members, managers, and employees of Intel Corporation (“Sponsor”), Facebook, Inc., [Big Monacle] (“Administrator”), and any of their respective parent companies, affiliate companies, subsidiaries, agents, professional advisors, advertising, promotional, public relations, and fulfillment agencies, consultants, legal counsel, website providers, web masters, and immediate family members (spouses, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and “step” child, wherever they may live) of each are not eligible to win any prize. IF YOU DO NOT MEET ANY OF THESE REQUIREMENTS, OR ANY OTHER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS IN THESE OFFICIAL RULES, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO WIN A PRIZE. If you are under the legal age of majority in your state or province of residence (a “Minor”), one of your parents or legal guardians agrees that they have read, understood and agree to these Official Rules with your entry, and that such agreement constitutes acceptance of these Official Rules on behalf of you and themselves. To be eligible to win a prize, entries must be completed and received by Sponsor and Administrator in the manner and format designated below. CONTEST IS IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ENDORSED, ADMINISTERED BY, OR ASSOCIATED WITH FACEBOOK, INC.
The Contest starts at 12:00:01 a.m. Central Time (CT) on December 7, 2016 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on May 31, 2017 (the “Contest Period”). All entries must be received during the Contest Period and meet other requirements in these Official Rules to be eligible to win a prize. Sponsor’s or Administrator’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.
To enter, complete the following steps during the Contest Period:
By submitting an entry and uploading content (written description, video, images) as instructed above (your “Submission”), you agree that your Submission conforms to the Guidelines and Restrictions detailed below. SPONSOR OR ADMINISTRATOR MAY CHOOSE TO REMOVE ANY SUBMISSION OR DISQUALIFY YOU FROM THE CONTEST IF IT BELIEVES THAT YOUR SUBMISSION FAILS TO CONFORM WITH THE GUIDELINES AND RESTRICTIONS.
EACH CONTEST PARTICIPANT MAY ONLY HAVE SEVEN TOTAL FRIENDS ACCEPT HIS OR HER RECOGNITION AND MAY ONLY ACCEPT RECOGNITION BY A FRIEND SEVEN TOTAL TIMES DURING CONTEST PERIOD. For the avoidance of doubt, the maximum number of total Teams a person may be on is fourteen (seven as the recognizer and seven as the recognized friend). Any attempts to obtain additional entries through fraud or other illegitimate means, such as (1) through multiple or duplicate accounts, names, or links; (2) impersonating other individuals (e.g., the friend you recognize); or (3) bulk or automated entries (including, for example, entries made using any script, macro, bot, or promotional service); or (4) otherwise manipulating the number of entries you receive in an unfair or deceptive way will result in disqualification, at Sponsor’s or Administrator’s discretion. SPAMMING INDIVIDUALS IN YOUR CONTACT LISTS (E.G., THROUGH REPEATED OR DUPLICATE MESSAGES) TO PARTICIPATE AS A FRIEND YOU ARE RECOGNIZING OR TO VOTE FOR YOUR SUBMISSION IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AT SPONSOR’S OR ADMINISTRATOR’S DISCRETION. For the avoidance of doubt, you may speak with your friend and request they accept your recognition, but you may not harass, pay, or otherwise coerce individuals into participation into the Contest as a recognized friend or as a voter of your Submissions (as set forth in Section 5 below). Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email account.
ALL CONTENT PROVIDED IN SUBMISSIONS WILL BE MODERATED BY SPONSOR OR ADMINISTRATOR. SPONSOR OR ADMINISTRATOR MAY REJECT SUBMISSIONS OR DISQUALIFY PARTICIPANTS AT ITS DISCRETION FOR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE GUIDELINES AND RESTRICTIONS. If participating in this Contest via your mobile device (which service may only be available via select devices and participating wireless carriers and is not required to enter), you may be charged for standard data use from your mobile device according to the terms in your wireless service provider’s data plan. Normal airtime and carrier charges and other charges may apply to data use and will be billed on your wireless device bill or deducted from your pre-paid balance. Wireless carrier rates vary, so you should contact your wireless carrier for information on your specific data plan.
All Submissions must be submitted by the individual entrant recognizing a friend (the recognized friend is unable to upload content and may only approve content). In the event of a dispute about the identity of the entrant, entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the account on which the Submission is made. An “authorized account holder” means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Each individual on a potential winning Team may be required to provide Sponsor or Administrator with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the email account associated with the winning entry.
The Grand Prize and Monthly Prize winners will be determined according to the following process.
All qualified and approved Submissions will be posted to the Contest webpage at www.1in7billion.com for public voting during the Contest Period. On or about June 2, 2016, the twenty-five (25) Teams with the “most engaging” Submission based on the following criteria (“Voting Phase Judging Criteria”) will be selected as finalists (“Finalists”):
On or about June 15, 2017, a panel of Sponsor-selected judges will score each of the 25 Finalist Team’s Submission on the following criteria (“Finalist Judging Criteria”):
The two Teams of Finalists with the highest scoring collection of Submissions based on the Finalist Judging Criteria will be deemed the potential winners. The decision of the judges is final. In the unlikely event of a tie, the winners will be determined by the Submission’s score in the following criteria: Consistency of Submission with contest theme of “why your friend is ‘weird or wonderful.’” Odds of winning a prize depend on number and quality of eligible entries received.
On the first of each month of the Contest Period, beginning January 1, 2017, a panel of Sponsor-selected judges will score all eligible Submissions for the preceding month of the Contest Period based on the following criteria (“Monthly Judging Criteria”):
The nine Teams with the highest scoring collection of Submissions for the preceding month will be selected as potential monthly prize winners as set forth in Section 6 below. The decision of the judges is final. For the avoidance of doubt, each monthly period will begin at 12:00:01 a.m. CT on the first of each month and end at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on the last day of each month (except for December 2016 which begins at the start of the Contest Period). In the unlikely event of a tie, the monthly winners will be determined by the Submission’s score in the following criteria: Creativity of Submission. Odds of winning a prize depend on number and quality of eligible entries received.
Each potential Grand Prize winner will be notified via email on or about June 30, 2017. Potential monthly prize winners will be notified via email on or about the 10th of each month (e.g., the monthly winners for December will be notified on January 10th). If any prize is won by a Minor, that prize will be awarded in the name of the winner's parent/legal guardian on behalf of the winner. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sponsor may require each individual on a potential winning Team to sign (and have his/her parent or legal guardian sign if a Minor in his or her place residency) and return, within five days of being notified, an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release in order to claim his/her prize. If (i) the attempted notification is returned as undeliverable without a forwarding address; (ii) any required documents are not returned within five days, such as the Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release or tax forms; or (iii) if potential winner is otherwise unable to accept the prize as stated, the prize will be forfeited and will be awarded to an alternate winner in accordance with the applicable Finalist Judging Criteria or Monthly Judging Criteria. Only two alternate winning Teams will be selected for each prize, after which the remaining prizes will not be awarded. If, by reason of a print or other error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these Official Rules, the prize(s) will be awarded to the person with the highest scoring Submission in accordance with the above Judging Criteria from among all eligible Teams making purportedly valid claims to award the prizes available.
